Are you looking for a unique opportunity to work in a beautiful oceanfront and rural location? Join our team of dedicated family doctors and nurses in Neil's Harbour, Nova Scotia, located in the stunning Cape Breton Highlands National Park.

We are currently seeking locum support for short and long-term locums between MAY 2024 to JANUARY 2025 to help with coverage during a physician maternity leave.

We are open to locums who want to come and experience the Highlands while making a meaningful contribution to our community's health services. Locums can be as short as 1-2 weeks, or as long as you'd like!

Your work will depend on your preferences and experience (clinic locum vs. emergency department vs. both.) We run a 24-hour low volume ER department, and work 24-48 hour shifts. The volume is manageable with overnight calls only about 25% of the time.

Our practice is well supported by a full-time Nurse Practitioner and Family Practice Nurse, creating a truly collaborative and positive work environment. We have dedicated administrative staff to help with scheduling, shadow billing (for those on ARPs) and day-to-day admin.

Locums will be paid via the new Nova Scotia Locum Program, offering $1200 guaranteed daily rate + hourly stipends for ER work ($170.59 (8am-4pm, weekends) and $98.66 (4pm-8am).)

The Locum Program offers coverage for travel, travel time, licensing reimbursement, accommodations paid ($300/night) and overhead stipend ($250/day.)
