Locum Physician

Job Title: Physician (Locum)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician to join our team at the Athabasca Medical Clinic.

This is a locum position, offering the opportunity to work in a Community Medical Clinic with the option of providing care also in a variety of settings including an inpatient facility, outpatient facility, emergency room, and long-term care facility.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient demographic, providing comprehensive medical care and treatment.

The role involves approximately 40 patient hours per week, with the option for on-call duties.

Compensation is based on a fee-for-service model.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality patient care within an Community Medical Clinic, with the opportunity to provide care to patient who are inpatient, outpatient, emergency room, and long-term care setting.
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, and refer patients to specialists when necessary.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
• Participate in continuous professional development and education activities.
• Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures, as well as provincial and federal health regulations.

Requirements:

• Medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Current license to practice medicine in the province.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role - preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
