The Ungava Tulattavik Health Center is located in Kuujjuaq and offers the whole health and social services in the eastern part of Nunavik. Serving seven Inuit communities with an equal number of CLSC, a center for the elderly and the hospital in Kuujjuaq, it employs approximately 1,000 employees - administrators, professionals, doctors, dentists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, support staff, etc.

Nunavik communities are located north of the 55th parallel where a subarctic climate prevails. It implies the existence of permafrost allowing no agriculture. Nunavik is the largest region covering about a third of the total area of Quebec. No road link exists between the communities of Nunavik and southern Quebec, and between Nunavik communities themselves. We have access to the region and its communities by air travel and by boat.

Part-Time on a regular replacement, 2 months ON/2 months for a minimum of one year with possibility of extension (35 hours/week)

FUNCTIONS

• Receives and prioritizes physiotherapy requests
• Takes charge of the clientele adult outpatients, inpatients, home care and orthopedic pediatrics.
• Collects and analyzes information in the file and performs the patient's evaluation
• Carries out the treatment plan and ensures patient follow-up
• Informs users about their condition and teaches them the required exercises
• Participates in the exchange of knowledge with peers
• Works in close collaboration with the physiotherapy and occupational therapy technologists
• Participates in multidisciplinary meetings and case discussions
• Ensures inventory of rehabilitation equipment
• Other related duties

QUALIFICATIONS

• University degree in physiotherapy
• Member in good standing of the Ordre professional de la physiothérapie
• Significant assessment and treatment experience with a diverse clientele
• Essential bilingualism in English and French (spoken and written); knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset
• Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships; respect for the values of the Inuit community.
• Highly adaptable and self-sufficient
• Available to travel between the various communities of Ungava Bay
• Organizational skills, leadership, dynamism and self-confidence
• Valid driver's license required

ISOLATION PREMIUM $203.66/week

HIGH COST OF LIVING PREMIUM $74.17/week

RETENTION PREMIUM $114.99/week

Any person recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she is called upon to perform her duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per her family status. Transit or Shared lodging if necessary.
