Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify physical limitations, disabilities, and movement dysfunctions.
- Utilize various diagnostic tools and techniques to evaluate patients' conditions.
Treatment Planning and Implementation:
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings and individual patient goals.
- Implement a variety of physiotherapy techniques, exercises, and modalities to improve patients' physical function.
- Monitor and adjust treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessment findings, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information.
- Ensure compliance with legal and professional standards in record-keeping.
Patient Education:
- Educate patients and their families on the nature of their condition, treatment options, and self-management strategies.
- Provide guidance on home exercises and lifestyle modifications to support the rehabilitation process.
Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other allied health professionals.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
Professional Development:
- Stay current with advancements in physiotherapy through ongoing education and training.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Compliance and Ethics:
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing physiotherapy practice in Ontario and Canada.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional integrity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO).
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Experience:
- Previous experience in physiotherapy practice is preferred but new grads are welcome to apply!
