Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Manager or designated manager/supervisor, this position plays an important role to ensure quality and safety of pharmaceutical care. This position is responsible for working collaboratively with a team of pharmacists to support our internal and external customers. The role primarily involves supporting the medication reconciliation process by helping to create and maintain patient record, gathering sources of information, managing administrative tasks, completing billing and adjudication of clinical work, entering prescriptions into the Telus Health Kroll system, as well as entry in electronic MAR programs such as Point Click Care and MedeCare. This team member plays a pivotal role in the triaging and processing of all notifications and medication orders for the Pharmacy. Duties will be performed using secure company technologies to access systems in designated pharmacies requiring remote data entry support.
Your Day To Day
- Delivering superior customer service
- Performing various technical aspects of triaging and information gathering for new admissions
- Communicating with the health care teams on non-clinical clarifications related to new orders; involving the pharmacist for clinical clarifications
- Creating new patient profiles and maintaining existing patient records on the database
- Inputting prescription information using various pharmacy software, updating patient profile information, generating, maintenance and inputting of long term care data
- Answering and resolving telephone inquiries; maintaining customer service expectations in a timely manner, knowing when to involve the pharmacist
- Clerical duties including completing records and documentation of admissions statistics for reporting to clients
- Ensuring accurate documentation of completed work as per policies and procedures
- Maintaining strict confidentiality and ethical standards
- Follow all provincial and federal laws, standards and regulations which govern the practice of pharmacy at all times
- Flexibility for occasional weekend and/or statutory holiday rotations, as required
- Performing duties as assigned
What You Bring To The Team
- Minimum one year full time working pharmacy experience or Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited Pharmacy Assistant program
- Minimum one year of data entry experience within operations for Long Term Care
- Knowledge of the Telus Health Kroll system required
- Proficiency in eMAR (Catalyst oneMar, MedeCare and Point Click Care (PCC) preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred
- Strong interpersonal communication skills; able to maintain a professional demeanor when speaking with clientele
