Our client, a leading healthcare provider, is looking to hire a Pharmacy Technician for their office based in Vancouver, BC.
The incumbent is responsible for accurate prescription handling, inventory management, and providing exceptional customer service to customers.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate prescription processing including data entry, labeling, packaging, and order preparation
- Maintain drug inventory, purchase supplies, monitor expiry dates, and perform scheduled counts as required
- Provide excellent customer service via phone and email to patients and HCPs
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements
- Ensure proper medication storage, including cold chain products, and report variances
- Contribute to pharmacy operations and procedures
- Manage dispensing and shipping schedules
- Handle account payments & receivables and resolve insurance issues for timely prescription claims
- Perform medication compounding if available
Requirements:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Pharmacy Technician
- Completed a CCAPP accredited Pharmacy Technician program
- 1-2 years of pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, both independently and as a team member
- Experience in specialty pharmacy or sterile compounding is an advantage
- Familiarity with third-party insurance plans and special authorization procedures is a plus
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and multitask
