The Calgary SRC is a team of physicians and medical students that provide after-hours care for those in need. Some of the services we provide include:
The clinic is run out of the Mustard Seed Wellness Centre (1010 Centre St S, Calgary, AB T2G 1B3) and the YWCA (1715 9 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2G 5M6), operated by medical students at the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine. Clinics run once per week from 6:30 - 9:00 pm, to provide after-hours access to healthcare for patients. Students work under the supervision of a physician to assess and manage patients. The SRC provides a budget to cover basic clinic supplies.
We are looking to expand our clinic hours and are recruiting physician preceptors to help. As a preceptor, you would be overseeing the medical students as they take histories, perform physical exams, and determine the assessment/management plan for each patient. Clients are booked every thirty minutes due to their complexity. Billing is fee-for-service with 30% of your billings as overhead. We expect physicians to take at least one shift every 1-2 months.Generally, physicians work one shift a month with flexibility for holidays.
