At East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH) in Cranbrook, transform women’s healthcare through your clinical expertise and compassion. Become a part of our dedicated team of OB/GYNs who collaborate in a spirit of teamwork and mutual support. We are committed to advancing the well-being of women through patient-centred care, excellence in practice, and a culture that values working together for the collective success of our patients.
As an OB/GYN at EKRH, your compassion and communication skills are crucial in allowing you to treat and support patients from a diverse population spanning many cultures. With sensitivity and adaptability, you can help reduce disparities and customize community initiatives to address unique needs. Your resilience and dedication to excellence will drive you to deliver impactful care for immigrants and Indigenous communities alike.
By leveraging your expertise to promote understanding across generations, your work will create positive change and nurture wellbeing for women, families, and the broader community. Join us to experience the immense fulfilment that comes from improving lives through culturally competent practice.
You will manage approximately 800-900 deliveries annually, continually growing through exposure to a spectrum of interesting cases. Our well-equipped operating rooms serve as the ideal setting for you to take on complex obstetric challenges, from twin pregnancies to intricate scenarios, enabling your professional growth.
Our neonatal unit allows you to provide holistic care for patients, while our collaborative multidisciplinary team, including pediatricians, urologists, psychiatrists, internists, and surgeons, offers robust support. With four local midwives and family physicians, our OB/GYN department fosters a nurturing environment to deliver comprehensive women’s health services.
Immerse yourself in a setting that nurtures continuous learning and professional advancement. Sharpen your teaching abilities through regular CME sessions and bedside education with residents and medical students who train here year-round.
Remain at the forefront of best practices in women’s health through participation in clinical audits, daily simulation trainings, and monthly morbidity and mortality rounds. Ongoing mentorship and leadership roles offer meaningful ways to elevate your skills while shaping the future of OB/GYN care.
Expand your influence through rural health initiatives. We offer up to 35 annual surgical locum days where you can provide care in BC’s remote communities. For those dedicated to serving these rural areas long-term, there are incentives and flexibility to craft a meaningful career by either joining an established practice or pioneering your own.
You are assured of being supported in delivering excellent urban healthcare while also having the chance to increase access for underserved populations. Our OB/GYNs are passionate about making a difference for women across the East Kootenays.
At EKRH, you can join a group devoted to enhancing women’s health through clinical excellence, compassion, and support for OB/GYN professionals. Together, we can revolutionize care and nurture the wellbeing of the East Kootenay community.
